Local Information

SIMUTools 2010 will take place in Torremolinos (near Málaga) in the region of Andalucia, Spain. The town is served by the Aeropuerto de Málaga (AGP), which stands in between the cities of Torremolinos and Málaga, at about 8 km from each. AGP is well-connected and can be easily reached by direct flights in Europe and in one- and two-stop flights from elsewhere in the world.

From the airport, one can reach the city center using different options:

  • Taxi: fares range between €15 and €25 and last about 10 minutes in good traffic.
  • Train: fares cost about €3 depending on the day of the week. Service from the airport starts at 07.09 and there is a departure every half-hour thereafter.
  • Bus: fares cost about €1. Service from airport starts at 07.00 and there is a departure every half-hour thereafter.

Regional Tourism

Torremolinos and Málaga are located on the beautiful Costa del Sol, an attractive region highlighted by beautiful, expansive beaches. The two cities are connected by affordable public transportation.

One interested in exploring Spain further can take advantage of day excursions by bus to Ronda, Gibraltar, Sevilla, Córdoba, and Granada. Many tours companies offer these opportunities at high convenience for the tourist and excellent value. Reservations can be made as late as one day before the trip and buses depart from various hotels in the city.

More information about tourist attractions and destinations easily reachable from Málaga can be found in the following sites:
